Oh my gosh....Look what the cat dragged in.  Keith is actually making a post.  I feel bad, it has been forever since I posted on here.  Sorry everyone....!!!!

D-now is coming up in one month !!!

Everything is crazy at the church.  The church stuff is going good, but we don't have a pastor right now.  Bro. Frank Shields is our interim, and he is really good.  Cole Permenter is preaching the early service, and is doing a great job.  The youth group is starting to get a few new faces, so that is always fun.

More, later

I wierdest thing happened to me last night.  I saw a dead guy.

I was one of the first people on the scene of an accident last night.  It was Hwy 34.  The accident was with a Nissan Maxima, and a Cadillac Escalade.  The couple in the Escalade were basically alright, with what would be considered minor injuries.  The guy in the Maxima was less fortunate.  Without going into great details, he was presummed dead by everyone at the scene.

When I walked up to the wreck, I saw him, and I knew that he was dead.  Although there was things going on around the wreck, it suddenly got very quiet as my brain processed what I was seeing.  It is a very chilling experience to see someone that is dead, and I know that that is something that I will never forget.

I don't know the guys name that died, but I will find out...just for my own info.  I won't publish his name, or the name of the other couple, out of respect for the family.

Ok, so everyone is beating me up for not posting anymore.  I am sorry, but here is my delima.  My job has changed, and I get home about the time that everyone is ready for bed.  I also have to get up early in hte morning, and so sleep is precious. Plus the internet connection speed that I have is rated at snail speed.  it is really annoying.  I will try to post a little more often.

So, did you miss the Gathering last night. WHAT?   It was so incredible and awesome. Altered led worship.  They are so good at leading.

I will try to post more later, and try to post more often

most of you know that i am getting married saturday at the gathering.  here are directions if you dont' know how to get there.  they are generic for different parts of the state.

From Monroe, LA

Take I-20 to Ruston

Take the second exit in Ruston.  Turn left.  This will be 167south.

Stay on 167s all the way to Quitman (14 miles).  At the light in Quitman, turn left.  This will still be 167s.

You will come to a four lane (actually a five lane).  You will come to a traffic light.  There will be Smurfit Stone paper mill on your right.

Continue going straight.  You will take your first left.  It will be after a train yard and a control station for the train yard.  The church will be on your left.  It is Hodge Baptist Church.  If you make it to the second light on the four lane, you went too far.

It will take one hour from Monroe driving the speed limit.

From Shreveport, LA

            Take I-20 east in Shreveport.

Take exit 69 in Arcadia, and head South (right)

Go through the town of Arcadia.  On the south end of town, you will get to a blinking caution light.  You will see a sign that directs you to Jonesboro.  This will be State Hwy 147.  Turn left.

Stay on this road.  You will come to a 4-way stop.  Go straight.  This will still be Hwy 147.

You will come to a traffic light.  There will be a paper mill on your right.  This will be US 167.  Turn right (south).  You will now be on a 4-lane.  You will take your first left.  It will be after a train yard and a control station for the train yard.  The church will be on your left.  It is Hodge Baptist Church.  If you get to the next light, you went too far.

It will take around one hour and twenty minutes driving the speed limit from Shreveport.

From Alexandria, LA

Take US 167 North (towards Ruston LA).  This will take you through Winnfield LA.  Continue heading North on 167.  You will come into the south side of Jonesboro.

Continue heading north.  You will go over an overpass.  You will go past Jonesboro/Hodge High School.  You will go past Pizza Hut, then past Sonic.

After sonic, you will see a traffic light.  After the light, take the first right.  You will see the Hodge Baptist Church.

It will take you one hour and fifteen minutes from Alexandria.

i cant' wait to see you there, and the dress code is very casual.  shorts and t shirts are fine

so as i was saying in my last post, the gathering on july 2 would be one to remember.  Well, I announced to everyone that I asked Betty to marry me.  She said yes, so now that makes me officially engaged.  So, if you think the July Gathering was one to remember, just wait for the gathering in August.  I guarantee that you will never forget this coming gathering
